Plaque honoring Olympic soccer player Brandi Chastain couldn't look less like her

When will sculptors learn how to sculpt?

On Monday, soccer player Brandi Chastain was inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame. This is well deserved as Chastain is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and a two-time World Cup champion.

Unfortunately, though she is joining a group of notable and honored athletes, the plaque made in her honor is joining a league with a different sort of fame.

Here's a closer side-by-side to see the stark difference between plaque and athlete. Yeowch.

Much like the infamous bust of Cristaino Ronaldo that was unveiled last year, Chastain's plaque bears very, very little resemblance to the actual athlete.

The internet had a field day trying to find all the people the plaque looks like that are most definitely not Chastain.

But Chastain's not letting this less-than-accurate representation of her ruin this special moment.

"It's not the most flattering," said Chastain at the reception. "But it's nice."

Fortunately, the plaque is set to be redone by the Hall of Fame, according to Yahoo News. Hopefully a more fitting representation of Chastain is underway. Such a soccer icon deserves it.
