Plane makes emergency landing during practice flight in Clay County

LIBERTY, Mo. — The pilot of a small plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Clay County, Missouri, while on a practice flight.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reports the incident happened around 3 p.m. Thursday in a field off of H Highway between Liberty and Missouri City.

The pilot and passenger said they had mechanical problems while on a practice flight and were forced to land in a field.

Online records show the plan took off from Lee’s Summit. No injuries were reported during the incident.
