Plane goes off runway after hard landing at Hampton Roads Executive Airport

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A plane piloted by a Virginia Beach man ran off the runway after a hard landing at Hampton Roads Executive Airport in Chesapeake on Thursday afternoon.

Sergeant Michelle Anaya with Virginia State Police says there was an issue with the landing gear when the Cessna 170A landed around 2:24 p.m.

The plane ran into a grassy area and its landing gear and wing were bent, photos show.

The pilot was not injured, Anaya said.
