Plainsmen track has strong day at Wheatland Invite

Mar. 30—The Laramie High outdoor track and field teams combined to win 11 events at Thursday's Wheatland Invite.

On the girls side, senior Addie Forry won the 400-meter dash in 1 minute, 0.86 seconds. In the 800, freshman MacKenna Schabron was first at 2:31.65.

Freshman Lainey Berryhiil took first in the 1,600 at 5:40.11, while teammate Keiran Giraldo claimed first in the 3,200 at 12:29.31. In the 4x400 relay, LHS' team of Berryhill, sophomore Libby Roesler, Forry and senior Leah Schabron took first at 4:11.71.

In the field events, junior Addison Fowler was first in the pole vault at 9 feet. Sophomore Kate Lewis took first in both the shot put at 35, 7 inches, and the discus throw at 111-06.

On the boys side, sophomore Flynn Arnold won the 400 in 50.71, while freshman Flint Hartsky took first in the 3,200 at 10:26.72. The team of Arnold, junior Jackson Reed, junior Gideon Moore and senior Logan Brown were first in the sprint medley relay at 3:43.70.

The Plainsmen will return to action at the Okie Blanchard Invite on Friday in Cheyenne.
