Placer Sheriff preparing for Loomis Costco opening

(FOX40.COM) — With the likelihood of increased traffic and large crowds in Loomis for the grand opening of its new Costco location, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office is prepositioning resources in preparation.

The sheriff’s office wrote in a social media post on Wednesday that they will have a deputy assisting with traffic at the intersection of Sierra College Boulevard and Taylor Road.

There will also be a deputy at the Costco helping address any issues that may arise during the chaotic first hours after the stores opening, according to the sheriff’s office.

The new location is set to open around 8 a.m. and a line has been forming outside the store since Tuesday.

Located at 4101 Sierra College Blvd., the new location will offer the usual warehouse shopping experience along with a tire service center, pharmacy, optical department, hearing aid center and food court.

Unlike the popular Roseville Costco location, this new Loomis location will not have a gas station.
