Pittsburg mini golf course officially re-opens

PITTSBURG, Kan. — A new attraction is now officially re-open in the city of Pittsburg.

A new 18-hole mini golf course opened to the public Thursday, as part of Four Oaks Golf Course inside Lincoln Park.

The previous course had drainage issues but now the course is open with more accessibility and maintainability. The remodel also includes new features like a gorilla statue, while also bringing back the cannon from the previous course.

There’s still some work left to do, but, so far, everything’s going smoothly.

“We’re not done but we’re gonna open for play. The benches are coming, the shade structures are coming, the gorillas may or may not get a paint job. We’re gonna spice it up a little but we wanted to get it opened because we didn’t want people driving by thinking ‘man they’re never gonna open this’,” said Toby Book, Dir. P&R Pittsburg.

More than $200,000 were raised to fund the project, with the help of private donations and grants. The course will open at 10 a.m. every day, depending on weather.
