(WJHL) – A handful of local colleges took to the baseball diamond on Saturday afternoon to continue conference play.

Cole Forcellina picked up his first win of the season, pitching 3.0 innings of relief, allowing just one run on four hits.

The Bulldogs bit back in Game 2, however, topping Tusculum, 10-6.

It was a five-run fourth inning that did the damage for the visitors, who launched a pair of homers in the victory.

Pioneers catcher Avery Collins drove home a pair of runs, while Will Samuelson, Connor Jurek and Luis Reyes all chipped in an RBI in defeat.

Tusculum (20-14, 14-7 SAC) hosts Young Harris next on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

The Milligan Buffs battled, but took a pair of losses against nationally-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan.

Vasili Kaloudis opened Game 1 with a long ball for the home team, but the Bulldogs scored seven runs over the next two innings to help secure a 13-6 win.

Buffs shortstop Andrew Mathias led the way with 3 RBI in the Game 1 loss.

In Game 2, Milligan struck first, again, with a Cade Kalehuawe RBI single. But, the Bulldogs bats awoke in the third inning and led them to an 11-1 victory.

Caleb Berry and Gaven Jones were the only other Buffs to register hits in Game 2.

Milligan (22-12, 11-7 AAC) will visit Alice Lloyd (KY) on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
