ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — As high pressure continues to influence the region, the mostly quiet and warm weather will stay in place across Southwest and Central Virginia.

Tuesday will start with morning temperatures in the 50s and lower 60s. Some patchy fog is possible for the morning commute. Otherwise, partly to mostly sunny will be overhead for the day with afternoon temperatures rising into the lower and middle 80s. While a couple of isolated showers/storms could pop up during the afternoon, much of the region will stay mostly dry.

Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week with highs in the middle and upper 80s. A few spots may hit the 90-degree mark. There is a slight chance for isolated showers along and west of the Blue Ridge. For many, a mix of sun and clouds will be overhead.

The chance for showers and storms will increase on Thursday afternoon/evening as a front approaches from the west. Periods of heavy rainfall are possible. A few strong storms may develop. Afternoon highs will be in the warm 80s.

Daily shower and storm chances will continue through Memorial Day. These showers and storms have a greater chance of development during the mid-afternoon and early evening hours. It will be warm and humid Friday through Monday with highs in the upper 70s and middle 80s.
