Pinpoint Weather: Unsettled weather for the weekend

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — An unsettled weather pattern is expected across Southwest and Central Virginia over the next several days. Showers and thunderstorms are possible each day.

Despite increasing cloudiness overhead, warm conditions are anticipated across the region on Friday. Afternoon highs will reach the 80s. A few late-day showers cannot be ruled out, but greater rain chances are slated for the weekend.

Keep the rain gear handy this weekend; off-and-on rain is likely for Saturday and Sunday. Some storms will come into the mix. Rain may be heavy at times with many locations receiving 0.75 – 1.50 inches of rainfall over the weekend.

It will be mostly cloudy and cooler. For Saturday, highs will be in the 60s and lower 70s. Sunday will be slightly milder with afternoon temperatures in the middle and upper 70s.

An unsettled summer-like weather pattern is expected for the upcoming week. Afternoon and evening showers/storms are possible through the middle of the week. Highs will be in the upper 70s and 80s.
