Pinpoint Weather: Storm chances return on Friday

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Showers and thunderstorms will return to the region on Friday as a cold front moves in. Showers are more likely in the morning with storms holding off until the afternoon.

There is a level one, marginal risk, for severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon. It appears, right now, that the better potential for stronger storms will be further to the south, but a couple of storms producing hail and wind cannot be ruled out.

Temperatures will be slightly cooler on Friday with highs in the 60s and 70s with morning lows in the 50s.

Temperatures will drop back to near-average levels for the weekend and first half of next week. Southside could see a few showers on Sunday. An area-wide chance for rain returns on Wednesday.
