Pinpoint Weather: Storm chances as heat continues

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Heat will return to the region again on Wednesday as temperatures rise into the 70s and 80s after starting near 60.

A few showers and storms are possible during the afternoon hours as temperatures rise. Any rain will be hit-or-miss and likely confined to areas east of the Blue Ridge. If storms form, severe weather is not expected.

We will get a break from the rain on Thursday but showers and storms are possible again Friday into Saturday as a cold front moves into the region. Another front could bring more showers and storms on Sunday.

Temperatures will remain in the low to mid-80s through the end of the work week with temperatures dropping back into the 70s for the weekend.
