Pinpoint Weather: Staying warm, few showers possible

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — In Southwest and Central Virginia, warm conditions are expected through the middle of the week. Isolated showers and storms will remain in the forecast for the next few days.

A few rain showers are possible on Wednesday as a warm front lifts north of the region. Isolated storms cannot be ruled out, but the rain will be hit or miss. Overall, it will be a mostly cloudy and warm day with afternoon temperatures rising into the 70s and lower 80s.

More sunshine and warmer temperatures are slated for Thursday. Morning temperatures will start in the upper 50s before warming into the summer-like 70s and 80s. Winds will be breezy at times.

A cold front will approach from the west on Friday. Highs will reach the 70s. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected.

This same front will bring a few showers to Southwest and Central Virginia on Saturday, but it won’t be as washout. It will be cooler with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. There is another chance for rain showers on Sunday. The cooldown continues with afternoon highs in the 60s.
