Pinpoint Weather: Soggy weekend expected

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Periods of rain are expected to impact the region over the next several days.

The weekend will not be a washout as there will be periods of rain followed by several hours of cloudy, but dry conditions before the next wave of rain builds in. Saturday’s rain looks to be light with slightly heavier rain on Sunday. The heaviest rain looks to impact the region on Monday. Showers will end on Tuesday morning. Flooding for most will not be a concern, but there could be isolated areas, especially along the southern Blue Ridge and the Mountain Empire that will have to be watched.

Saturday will be the warmest day so far this month as many regions will see temperatures rise into the 50s and 60s. Overnight lows will be warmer, in the 40s, as humidity holds those temperatures up.

Temperatures will drop into the 50s starting Sunday and for most of the week ahead. The coolest day will be Wednesday with highs only in the 40s.
