Pinpoint Weather: Soggy start to the weekend

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Rain will overspread the area through the night into the day on Saturday. Rain will end from west to east during the afternoon.

Rainfall will be higher in the east with less expected in the west. One to one and a half inches is expected. Locally higher amounts are possible along the Blue Ridge.

Temperatures will rise on Saturday as the cooler air, currently in place, gets pushed out as the front moves through. Temperatures will return to near-average levels by afternoon.

Behind the front on Saturday, wind speeds will increase. Gusts of 30 to 35 mph are possible with wind speeds dropping off during the early morning hours on Sunday.

Temperatures will remain in the low to mid-60s for the week ahead with overnight lows in the 30s and 40s.
