Pinpoint Weather: Rain returns for the weekend

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – A Flood Watch is in effect for the westernmost communities Saturday into Sunday as heavy rain and melting snow could cause isolated flooding.

Rain is expected to begin during the early afternoon on Saturday with bursts of heavy rain possible through the evening hours. Lighter rain is expected into the first half of the day on Sunday.

Rainfall of one to two inches is possible this weekend with isolated higher amounts.

Temperatures will be cooler this weekend with high temperatures on Saturday only reaching the mid-50s. Low temperatures will drop into the 40s.

Temperatures will remain in the 50s for Sunday but fall into the 40s for the first half of next week. Another front moves through on Wednesday that could bring light rain and snow showers. Temperatures return to the 50s for Thursday and Friday.
