Pinpoint Weather: Gusty wind through Monday midday

Potentially damaging NW wind will continue tonight with gusts along the higher ridgetops reaching up to 60 mph. More broadly, wind gusts of 35-45 mph can be expected along and west of the Blue Ridge. We have a High Wind Warning in effect through Monday noon for the Roanoke Valley and Floyd, Carroll, and Grayson Counties. It is in these areas where downed trees and power lines can be expected. The areas west of the Blue Ridge may experience wind gusts of 35-55 mph tonight. At these speeds, limbs and power lines are at risk.

Wind will continue through midday Monday with the more powerful gusts likely overnight.

Monday morning will be cold in the 20s to low 30s. With sunny skies, Monday afternoon temperatures will be from near 50 to around 60.

This week will be mostly dry with the next rainfall not expected until Friday through the weekend.

Temperatures this week will climb to as high as 15 to nearly 20 degrees above normal.
