Pinpoint Weather: Daily rain chance through Memorial Day

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — An unsettled weather pattern is expected across Southwest and Central Virginia for the next several days as showers and thunderstorms are possible each day.

Skies will become mostly cloudy on Thursday as a front approaches from the west. It will be warm with highs ranging from the mid-70s to the mid-80s. While a few morning showers are possible, there is a greater potential for scattered showers and storms during the afternoon and evening. Periods of heavy rainfall may occur due to the humid air in place. A few storms may become strong to severe, producing gusty winds and hail.

Passing showers and storms are slated for Friday. It won’t rain all day, but you may want to keep the umbrella handy. There is a higher chance of seeing showers and storms late in the day. Afternoon highs will reach the lower and middle 80s.

Daily rain chances will continue into the Memorial Day weekend. However, it won’t be a washout. Some showers and storms are possible each day. If you’re planning on spending some time outside, make sure to stay weather-aware. Otherwise, a mix of sun and clouds will be overhead with highs in the 80s.

Scattered showers and storms are anticipated on Memorial Day with variably cloudy skies overhead. The warm and humid conditions will continue with highs in the lower and middle 80s. Stronger storms may develop with pockets of heavy rainfall possible.
