Pinpoint Weather: Cooler end to the work week

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Clouds will increase across the region tonight and stick around for Friday as moisture returns to the region from the east.

The lack of sunshine and slightly cooler air moving in will cause temperatures to only rise into the 50s and 60s after starting the day in the 40s.

Showers will return to the region on Saturday, especially in the mountains. Rain should be light. Hit-or-miss showers are possible both Sunday and Monday near the West Virginia border. Rain could be a bit more widespread on both Tuesday and Thursday as weak cold fronts enter the region. Rainfall for the week will be less than a quarter of an inch with locally higher amounts in thunderstorms.

Temperatures will remain in the 60s through Saturday before jumping into the 80s Sunday through Wednesday. Temperatures will return to the 70s on Thursday.
