Pierpont Community and Technical College to hold spring commencement at Robinson Grand

Apr. 20—FAIRMONT — Students from Pierpont Community and Technical College will have one of the most grand venues for their spring commencement ceremony.

The college has scheduled its spring graduation celebration to be held May 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center in Clarksburg.

Former Pierpont Board of Governors chairman James Griffin will deliver the keynote address. Currently serving as chairman of the West Virginia Black Heritage Festival Board of Directors, Griffin has been a leader in human and civil rights in North Central West Virginia throughout his extensive career.

Pierpont Foundation chair and former West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant will deliver remarks on behalf of the Foundation.

Prospective graduates will receive degrees from a variety of programs, including advanced welding, applied design, aviation maintenance technology, cyber security, early childhood education, veterinary technology and licensed practical nursing and others. The class of 2024 is comprised of students from 45 states, as well as Canada and Japan.

Tickets are required for those planning to attend the ceremony. The ceremony will also be livestreamed on YouTube for those who cannot attend in person.
