Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival returning to Clearwater Beach

CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival will be celebrating their 10th year on Clearwater Beach in just a few days.

For the past few weeks, 16 sculptors have been busy creating the masterpieces that will be featured during this year’s event.

“My creative and personal highlight of the year,” sand sculptor Dean Arscott from St. Pete said. “You get to work around top-notch sculptors from all over the world.”

The theme this year is “Sands of Time,” which will take a look back at festival themes from the past ten years.

“While the festival is open, there’s always at least one sculptor doing what we call a performance piece, so people can see the process, ask questions,” Arscott said.

The festival is also offering sand sculpting classes, live music, food, vendors and fireworks. More details are on its website.

The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival is March 29 through April 14.

General admission tickets for the festival are $14 per day and are available to purchase online.
