A post office in east London has been partially destroyed after burglars reportedly drove a truck into the shop front and stole a cash machine.

Petersfield Avenue Post Office in Romford, east London, was targeted by burglars in the early hours of Tuesday morning, police said.

A video shows several masked men using a pick-up truck to pull an ATM machine out of the damaged shop.

The Metropolitan Police said no arrests had been made.

The shop front sustained huge damage following the burglary and goods were left scattered across the road.

The road was partially blocked for much of the day and buses were rerouted while police investigated the scene.
