Pia Wurtzbach would be happy to play Darna
11 Apr – While other actresses like Kathryn Bernardo and Jessy Mendiola were saying no to the idea of playing the female superhero Darna, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach said that she would be welcoming the project with open arms.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the actress, who spoke to the media about the opportunity recently, shared that she is very flattered that fans of the franchise named her one of the actresses they believe could do the role justice.
"If you're going to give me the role of Darna, I'll accept it. I will work hard, I will train, I will attend workshops. I will give all my strength. But, of course, it's ABS-CBN's decision in the end to see who is the perfect fit to play the role," she said.
Wurtzbach also has no issue auditioning for the role if necessary.
"Why not? It's everybody's dream. It's a dream role for me to play a superhero. If it happens, it happens. If not, then that's also fine," she said.
As for Soberano, who withdrew from the project due to medical issues, the beauty queen stated that she feels bad about it.
"There are things that is out of control. I can just imagine what it feels like. I feel really bad for what happened," she said.
