Pi Day: Learning the significance of the number behind the date
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — March 14 is also known as Pi Day — a day where people may partake in pizza and pies. However, Pi Day is also significant in mathematics.
The day is in honor of the mathematical constant 3.14, also known as pi.
Pi is an irrational, never-ending number most often used to find the circumference of a circle.
Delia Navarro with the Sylvan Learning Center Bakersfield joined 17 News at Noon to talk about teaching kids about the significance of pi.
