Thursday, March 14, is National Pi Day, a time to celebrate the number that represents the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.

The number is known as π, the first letter of the Greek word "perimetros," which loosely translates to “circumference,” according to PiDay.org.

Pi, which is typically rounded down to 3.14, can actually go on forever. The most accurate value for Pi, according to Guinness World Records, is more than 62 trillion digits (62,831,853,071,796 to be precise), calculated in August 2021 by the University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland.

Tiny Pies' National Pi Day special deals

The Austin-based bakery Tiny Pies ships nationwide. Its National Pi Day deals included a 12-pack of pies for $76.40, a six-pack for $38.70 and a 9-inch pie (apple crumb, cherry crumb, chocolate cream, key lime and Texas pecan) with an artisanal pastry pi symbol for $35.95.
