Vogue Picks: Indigo Deli Bandra

You can’t really have too much of a good thing clearly, not when it comes to comfort food and neighborhood food haunts that become firm favourites. Which is to say, there’s always a case for opening another outpost of Indigo Deli, which is just what chef Akerkar has done, this time in Bandra, already Mumbai’s food lover haven.

If you’ve been used to the intimate setting and signature Indigo walls of the deli in Colaba, you’ll find the new setting has been given a modern makeover. There are cool circular\booths interspersed with smaller two and four tops, a glass wall separating the patio seating  from the inside, and cream walls. Comfortingly familiar though, in all of these new surroundings, is the menu which is every bit as good as the original. There are a few additions to each section, and we recommend trying the Eggs on The Beach – a twist on the classic Eggs Benedict, the salad of asparagus and artichokes and the carbonara pizza. If you have space left over, there are new additions to the dessert menu, and they’re just as good as the old faithfuls. Throw in French press coffee, friends/a good book/ a date, and you’ve got yourself a new favourite hangout.
