Strange brew - film processed in wacky chemicals

Experimental New York photographer Matthew Cetta has come up with a bizarre way of altering his images - by destroying the film with liquids he finds around the house. The quirky artist uses his unusual technique to create stunning, abstract prints that look like they have been taken with a filter or altered on Photoshop. After a film has been used, Matthew soaks it in different chemicals to give each picture a unique effect before it is developed. He has tried lemon juice, nail varnish remover, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, petrol, absinthe, and turpentine. (Photos by MatthewCetta/BNPS)
