MCCORVEY

Norma McCorvey, at microphone, plaintiff in the 1973 landmark case that legalized abortion, addresses the media and a large group of anti-abortion supporters, Tuesday June 17, 2003, in downtown Dallas. Attorneys for the "Jane Roe" in the Dallas case that led the US Supreme Court to strike down laws banning abortion, filed a petition in federal court in Dallas seeking to reopen and set aside the ``Roe versus Wade'' decision. The motion asks a lower court to consider new evidence that abortion hurts women. Her attorney says since McCorvey was a party to the original litigation, she can petition the court to reopen the case. (AP Photo/Tony Gutierrez)
