Playful House Has Giant Indoor Slide to Combat Boredom

Some people curb boredom with television. These people installed a massive slide inside their apartment.

Why? According to the Contemporist, it’s so they wouldn’t get bored with the design in a year or so, because they wanted to have a special element in their home, and because they wanted to wow guests.

We say: Those are all pretty great reasons.

Located in Kharkiv, Ukraine, the slide — part of new design by Ki Design Studio — whips you from the second floor straight to the living room. (If you’re not into taking the slide, there’s also stairs. The top of the slide starts right beside them, offering a choice of transport.)

We also love that a home office is tucked in right at the top of the stairs as well. The jump from work to play is literally a matter of feet. Whee!

The slide is the centerpiece, but the rest of the apartment is hardly humdrum. It’s a modern, open concept with other cool elements like a hanging hammock chair and two-story green wall.

Basically, that whole boredom problem has been decidedly solved.

And hey homeowners? if you ever do get bored with it, call us!
