dan: Why any politician ever insults or engages in any kind of argument with the parents of a fallen soldier I have no idea. I don't care what the parents of a fallen soldier say, just leave them be, regardless if they are right or wrong. Now to LePage, if he is reporting facts, even if they are politically incorrect facts, people just have to deal with it. If his facts as he is reporting them are wrong, then he should be called out, but if his facts are just insensitive and offensive then people need to just deal with it. I have seen stats reported by the FBI that show blacks have committed homicide at a rate of 8 times the rate of whites. See Race and crime in the United States, Homicide Section on Wikipedia. It states "The offending rate (homicide) for blacks was almost 8 times higher than whites" OK, this is a FACT as reported by the FBI. There is nothing racist or bigoted about reporting this fact. These FBI facts correlate with Lepage's facts. I am not saying Lepage's facts are correct, but they are not beyond what would be considered reasonable in light of the FBI facts I just listed. So again, if Lepages facts are wrong, then he should be called out, but if he is actually reporting FACTS, then everyone just needs to deal with it.
