    Michele Bachmann ends White House bid

<p>It looks like God has responded via a billboard in St. Paul, Minnesota. It's a resounding one-word answer: "No."</p>

<p>The billboard cropped up in St. Paul earlier this week, the work of the folks at the satirical website <a rel="nofollow" href="http://thegoodlordabove.com/">TheGoodLordAbove.com</a>. </p>
<p>Or maybe God. </p>
<p>Or maybe God in the disguise of of the folks at the satirical website <a rel="nofollow" href="http://thegoodlordabove.com/">TheGoodLordAbove.com</a>. </p>
<p>Who am I to say? </p>
<p>Anyway, this all started in late December 2017 when, during an appearance on <em>The Jim Bakker Show</em> (<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/jim-bakker-is-indicted-on-federal-charges">yes, <em>that</em> Jim Bakker</a>), Bachmann said people had asked her to run for the U.S. Senate seat just vacated by Al Franken, who resigned over <a rel="nofollow" href="https://mashable.com/2017/11/16/al-franken-leeann-tweeden-grope-sexual-assault/?utm_campaign=Mash-BD-Synd-Yahoo-Watercooler-Full&utm_cid=Mash-BD-Synd-Yahoo-Watercooler-Full">allegations of sexual harassment</a>. </p>
<p>Bachmann told Bakker that her failed 2012 presidential campaign had "fulfilled the calling that God gave me" but that, with regard to the upcoming senate race, “So the question is: am I being called to do this now? I don’t know.” </p>

<p>We've reached out to the people behind the billboard for additional comment, but given that God's a pretty busy deity, we may just have to settle for keeping an eye out for a billboard of our own. </p>
