Sloan: Trump’s vulgarity, insults and bullying alienate Christian Conservatives! Russell Moore, head of the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, calls Trump “an unrepentant serial adulterer who abandoned two wives for other women.” Trump “speaks in vulgar and harsh terms about women, as well as in ugly and hateful ways about immigrants and minorities.” Moore points out that much of Trump’s wealth is from an “industry that preys on the poor and incentivizes immoral and often criminal behavior.” Moore states that no bible reading, church attending Christian could support Trump! In recent days, the Trump team apparently forget to run their data analytics engine prior to sending Mike Pence to speak at Patrick Henry College (PHC) in Purcellville VA. Results were predictable with student protests and poor attendance that illustrate the challenges that Trump has with evangelical Christians, especially younger ones, who are turned off by his vulgarity, his hate speech, and his personal history! The PHC student body is very anti-Trump... widely known…yet the Trump organization sent Pence into this hostile audience wasting time and resources. A recent poll by neighboring Roanoke College found the formerly purple state of Virginia solidly blue with Clinton up by 16. Rather than a battleground Virginia looks like a bloodbath for the GOP. Trump runs his campaign like a Reality Show chasing ratings not the Presidency. One speculates if the objective of the Bannon / Ailes / Trump (BAT) trilogy is a new media empire…and not winning this election. If BAT is indeed a future media outlet we expect that the message of Jesus will not find a place in the hard alt right mantra of hate.
