mark: This is exactly why the founding fathers created the electoral college - to give every state a voice. If we elected based on a popular vote, California and New York would dictate what happens in the rest of the country. Trump won more counties and more states, and therefore, more electors. The system worked exactly as it was supposed to. It's no wonder why the last two candidates to win the popular vote and lose the electoral college were democrats. It's because they won the big cities. But the big cities do not represent the majority of the country. It really is a brilliant system.
