Calgary city officials say as many as 100,000 people could be forced from their homes due to heavy flooding in western Canada, while mudslides have forced the closure of the Trans-Canada Highway around the mountain resort towns of Banff and Canmore. As water levels dropped in Calgary, Canada residents returned to waterlogged homes on June 24 to assess the damage from flooding that has devastated much of Alberta, causing at least three deaths and forcing thousands to evacuate. But in Medicine Hat, Alberta, thousands of people have left their homes as water levels rose on the South Saskatchewan River. (AP)
