Todd: Trust Me!
Way back in the 80's, there was this little deal down in Arkansas (While Bill Clinton was Governor) called the Whitewater Development Corporation. In the 1970s and ’80s, the Clintons and their friends Jim and Susan McDougal had invested in the Whitewater Development Corp.; it was alleged that Clinton, as governor, had pressured a local S&L to loan Susan McDougal $300,000 for real estate investments with the company, and that transactions between an Arkansas bank and Bill Clinton had been concealed.
Neither Clinton was charged, though both McDougals and Gov. Jim Guy Tucker, who served as governor after Clinton, were convicted of fraud. Bill went on to pardon Susan McDougal.
Of course there is that harrowing story Hillary told of landing under fire in Bosnia. It never happened.
And there is the Clinton Foundation. While serving as secretary of state, Clinton was lobbied by human rights groups and union leaders to address the Colombian government’s abuse of striking oil workers The oil company in question, Pacific Rubiales, was promising millions to the Clinton Foundation. Hillary’s State Department wound up publicly hailing Colombia’s commitment to human rights reform — and that statement allowed the United States to continue funding the Colombian military. Today, the founder of Pacific Rubiales is a board member of the Clinton Foundation.
A major phosphate company owned by the Moroccan government pledged at least $1 million to the foundation. In 2011, Clinton’s State Department assailed Morocco as a corrupt state guilty of “arbitrary arrests and corruption in all branches of government.” Women in Morocco are still subjugated by Islamic rule, yet last September, Hillary Clinton’s public stance on the government had changed. “A vital hub for economic and cultural exchange,” she called it, one that was “in the midst of dramatic changes.”
The foundation has also taken money from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Oman. Not really pillars in the women's rights movement.
Hillary will likely position herself as the champion of the middle class and poor. It has been revealed that Clinton charges a minimum of $300,000 per speech and has an extensive list of demands. Anyone who hires Hillary to speak must also provide a private jet, Gulfstream G450 or better and put her up in presidential suites. Her standard agreement requires her presence for only 90 minutes, and 50 photos with 100 attendees, no more. Hillary has defended her enormous speaking fees by saying she and Bill were “not only dead broke, but in debt” when they left the White House.
In 1999, Bill and Hillary bought their house in Chappaqua for $1.7 million, and in 2000 purchased a seven-bedroom in Washington, DC, for $2.85 million. Hillary’s Senate financial disclosure form that year listed their assets at $1.8 million.
She also positions herself as a champion of women. What about Bill’s many women including Paula Jones and Kathleen Willey, who alleged sexual harassment, and Juanita Broaddrick, who accused him of rape? And of course, Monica Lewinski? The Clintons often embarked on a “nuts and sluts” campaign, denigrating the accusers.
Hillary called Bill’s longtime mistress Jennifer Flowers “trailer trash”; she also encouraged his team to get signed statements from all of Bill’s other women, swearing they’d never had sex with him.
There is also the matter of Benghazi. The fact that the consulate was in an unstable region (The longtime leader, dictator and strongman Mohamar Gahdaffi having been ousted in the administration's heralded "Arab Spring"), with known al Qaeda forces in the area and that there had been several smaller attacks in the preceding months, and that it was nearing September 11 and that Ambassador Stephens had previously requested additional security...all that was no reason to be on extra alert. And when the attack came, she tried to play it off as a spontaneous reaction to a YouTube video.
Of course this led to the discovery that she had bypassed State Department security protocol and was corresponding by email through a private server kept at her house and run by people with little skill in this area. She said she did that so she could carry only 1 device, which is total B.S. We found out she carried as many as 3 devices routinely. Then she said she couldn't turn over any records from the server because it had been erased. Then the files DID turn up. So she turned them over, after she deleted the emails that were just family business. Then about 30,000 more files turned up. But she assured us there was no classified materials ever sent through this server. If you stop right there, you have to ask, "how in this day and age do you transact business in a national security environment, using only one email server, and NEVER send any classified information?" Well, you can't. And we soon found out there WAS classified information on the server, which had probably been hacked by every nation that seeks our downfall.
So the FBI investigated and shortly before a decision was made, Bill shows up at the same airport as the Attorney General, has a private meeting on her plane (a woman would have to be nuts to have a private meeting on a private plane with Bill Clinton) and shortly thereafter, the FBI (they are run by the DOJ) announces there will be no recommendation for criminal charges against Hillary. She was just very careless and made some mistakes. With our national security. In this age of unprecedented international terrorism.
But, as Hillary says, "What does it matter?" You can trust me.
