Trizz: Easy way to tell if this is fair or not. Many, many, many countries/people over the history of humankind have had slaves. How many of those countries with 330 million people from all cultures/countries have actually paid reparations for slaves from their history? Why is the UN then so interested in just making the US do so? I am not responsible for what my SIBLINGS do, here, in the NOW, let alone what people I never met and will never meet have done to others who no longer are alive, either. People are not responsible for the actions of their ancestors, and people are not entitled to unearned rewards based on what happened to theirs. I mean, what about people who just came here as immigrants AFTER slavery which ended over 150 years ago? Do they owe, too? My ancestors just beyond my grandparents are not from the US, had absolutely nothing to do with slavery. How is it my responsibility for my tax dollars to be spent giving people a check for no reason? I, nor my ancestors, had absolutely nothing to do with America's slave history, literally.
