Cartoons stripped

A wacky artist has stripped family favorite cartoon toys down to their bare bones in a bid to reveal their inner character - though wannabe owners should prepare for a wallet-busting fee.

American designer Jason Freeny, 43, has shown that beloved TV characters have a heart by giving plastic figures their own internal organ system.

His collection includes gruesome versions of a Barbie doll, Papa Smurf, Monsters Inc hero Sulley and Family Guy favorite Stewie Griffin.

Collectable designer pill fobs can be yours for less than $10 each, but one-off art pieces will set you back about $5,000, with some going for more than $8,000. (Caters News)
