Bridge collapse in Washington state

May 24, 2013

Officials scrambled to rescue drivers after a portion of a four-lane Interstate 5 bridge collapsed into the Skagit River in Washington State on Thursday evening. Miraculously, it appears no one was killed. Authorities suspect a semi truck carrying an oversize load hit an upper part of the span, causing the collapse.
