Photos + Video: Wednesday storm dumps more rain on water-logged area

May 16—WORTHINGTON — Extreme variability from Wednesday afternoon's thunderstorm through Nobles County left as little as 2-tenths of an inch of rain south of Worthington and more than 2 inches north of the city.

The official rain total recorded by Worthington's wastewater treatment plant was 1.76 inches — all of which came in less than an hour.

The deluge caused street flooding in numerous areas near the downtown area, from Second Avenue near the JBS Field House to Fifth Avenue near Worthington Federal Savings and Loan and 10th Street near the Atrium.
