PHOTOS: Tree falls, significantly damages Takoma Park homes

TAKOMA PARK, Md. (DC News Now) — A large tree in Takoma Park displaced two families after it fell on multiple houses Thursday.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson, Pete Piringer, said in a post on the platform X that around 4 p.m., a large tree fell on top of three houses near Dogwood Avenue, off of Philadelphia Avenue.

Firefighters responded to the scene and helped two people get out of their homes.

The tree appeared to have fallen, likely due to the ground being wet. Nothing hit it and nobody cut it down. As a result, two of the houses were significantly damaged.

No injuries were reported.
