Photos: Storm in southern Wisconsin damages city building & traffic signals

BELOIT, Wis. (WFRV) – Straight-line winds/microburst activity is reportedly to blame after a storm in southern Wisconsin left a path of destruction.

The City of Beloit posted pictures and information regarding a storm that happened on April 16 that caused what looks like significant damage. Officials say the storm destroyed the roof of the city’s pump house building at White Avenue and Riverside Drive.

This building was reportedly occupied by multiple non-profit organizations. There were no reported injuries.

The traffic signals at the intersection of White Avenue and Riverside Drive as well as White and Park Avenues were damaged.

It is mentioned that the National Weather Service determined that the damage was caused by straight-line winds/microburst activity.
