PHOTOS: Propane cylinder stuck in the Susquehanna River after tractor-trailer crash

PERRY COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A propane cylinder can be seen floating in the Susquehanna River throughout the weekend after officials say a tractor-trailer crashed.

According to the New Buffalo Fire Company, the 52-foot-long propane cylinder plunged into the river after the tractor-trailer rolled over in the area of Notch Road around 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The 18,000 gallon, 45,000 pound cylinder is empty, and will be in the river until at least Monday, according to the fire company. There is no threat to the public.

The fire company said that the driver lost control of the vehicle when taking a turn and tipped over, causing the cylinder to break loose and plunge into the river after taking out some trees.
