Photos: Fire crews respond to residential fire in Parksley

PARKSLEY, Va. (WAVY) — On Sunday, March 17, around 9:40 p.m., units from Station 7 Parksley Volunteer Fire Company, Inc, Station 8 Tasley, Station 9 Onancock Volunteer Fire Department Inc., Station 10 Melfa and Station 6 Bloxom, were dispatched to a reported working residential structure fire in Parksley, Onancock Volunteer Fire Department said.

The fire was identified as a defensive operation due to the partial collapse of the home and being fully involved, officials said. Crews operated on scene for nearly 2 hours to extinguish the fire.

Virginia Department of Forestry Forestry 2 also assisted on scene due to the impingement of fire into the woods.
