PHOTOS: Could you eat 60 Chilli Crab Baos in eight minutes?
Eight competitors pit themselves against one another in the finals of the inaugural Red House Challenge on Saturday (27 August) to see who could devour more Chilli Crab Baos in a span of eight minutes.
Freelance photographer Ng Chin Sheng, 37, devoured 60 baos to win the competition. He said that he did not expect to win the competition and that his strategy was to “eat, drink and then swallow”.
Chin Sheng won $3,888 cash and a $200 Red House Seafood dining voucher.
The event, organised by Red House Seafood, was held at the Quayside along Robertson Quay.
The only female finalist, 29-year-old Sarah Ow, came in second after wolfing down 48 baos, while professional competitive eater Zermatt Neo, 28, ate 45 baos to come in third.
Both won a $200 Red House Seafood dining voucher as well as $1,888 and $888 in cash, respectively.
