Photographer documents abandoned asylums and psychiatric hospitals
These eerie images showcase the haunting abandoned asylums that lie dotted across secluded parts of the U.S. and Canada. Intrepid explorer Dave, the man behind the social media presence Freaktography, has spent more than six years documenting these wonders.
Some images show chairs used to restrain chronically insane patients still stand, while others depict gravestones that use only a number to identify the former inmates. Dave, who never reveals his last name, said: “What intrigues me most … [are] the deep and dark histories that are held within the walls and wards.” (Caters News)
