Photographer's retouching fail goes viral

When most families pay for a professional photograph of their loved ones, they usually expect a decent photo that will be displayed in their home for years to come -- but for one family they went viral instead.

Pam and Dave Zaring met their photographer on a beautiful sunny day and everything went as planned -- or so they thought.

The photographer they paid around $200 to $250 claimed the shadows on the photos were very intense and that she hadn't been taught how to retouch photos.

The young woman did her best -- and the results are absolutely hilarious.

The bizarre family photos have been making the rounds online since they were posted on January 12.

Pam realized something must have gone awry when the photographer wouldn't send her any of the photos months after they had been taken.

In an interview with Inside Edition, Pam said 'I asked her if we also looked like cartoon characters on her end and she did say that we do, she just really struggled with the lighting and the shadows.'

While the Zaring's may have lost some money, this is one story they'll definitely be talking about for years to come.
