Phillip Schofield reveals how he has been supporting Holly Willoughby's 'I'm a Celeb' debut

Phillip Schofield might not have his regular co-presenter by his side at the moment, but he is still supporting her from the other side of the world.

The TV presenter told This Morning viewers that he had been keeping in close contact with Holly Willoughby over the weekend ahead of her I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! debut.

He said that they had been texting backwards and forwards before the show and that he had left a surprise for her in her dressing room, despite working in different countries for the next few weeks.

Schofield said: “I left a bottle of champagne in her dressing room, so I think that helped.”

He also sent a series of supportive tweets throughout the jungle show’s first episode with Willoughby at the helm.

Willoughby is taking a break from her usual job on the This Morning couch with Schofield to fill in for Ant McPartlin alongside Dec Donnelly in the jungle, while Rochelle Humes takes her place on the ITV daytime show until she returns.

Her first episode of the reality contest was a huge hit, with fans praising her for not trying to be like McPartlin and having a great sense of humour with Donnelly.

McPartlin is said to have been part of the team who made the decision that Willoughby would step in for him this year.

Willoughby shared a snap of her sunbathing following her successful debut.

The show saw Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack voted by the public to take on the first bushtucker trial, Viper Pit, after a dramatic entrance that saw her screaming and sobbing through a sky dive from a helicopter.

The Chase star Anne “The Governess” Hegerty also struggled with life in camp, having to be consoled by her campmates as she broke down in tears over the basic conditions.
