Phillies OF Rhys Hoskins hits foul ball off his own teeth, spits up blood
Ouch!
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Rhys Hoskins was facing Los Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen on Monday when he fouled a fastball directly off his own teeth. Hoskins remained on the ground for several moments and spit up blood before leaving the game.
The foul ball came on a 1-2 count with two outs in the ninth. Pedro Florimon took his place at the plate before striking out for the last out in a 5-4 Dodgers win.
The Phillies announced after the game that Hoskins suffered a cut on his lower lip.

If that’s all he suffered, Hoskins caught a good break on top of a bad one.
