Philippines: 'China ships damaged coast guard boat'
STORY: Two Chinese coast guard vessels used water cannons against the Philippine ship, which was patrolling together with a civilian fisheries vessel near the contested Scarborough Shoal, footage shared by the Philippine Coast Guard showed.
The Philippine Coast Guard also accused the Chinese side of setting up another floating barrier that covers the entrance to the shoal.
Beijing and Manila have repeatedly clashed in recent months at the submerged reef, which Philippines says is in its exclusive economic zone but which China also claims as its own.
