CHICAGO — Hold onto your pixie dust Chicago! Peter Pan has flown right into the city on the wings of a newly-imagined Broadway play.

The high-flying production includes a lot of twists and turns — mid-air — with flying choreographer, Paul Rubin, telling WGN News this show is where a beloved tale and new technology intertwine.

To get an idea of how hard it is to “fly”, we sent our own Brónagh Tumulty to try it out…and she says she won’t be joining the cast any time soon, because it’s a lot harder up there than it looks!

Peter Pan is, of course, a story that’s thrilled audiences for decades.

The new production is directed by Emmy Award-winner Lonny Price who tells us, “Peter Pan is one of the great treasures of the American Musical Theatre…the show nurtures and inspires the imagination of its audience and reminds us to keep alive the child within us all.”

Celebrated playwright Larissa FastHorse says, “If you loved this musical before, you will still see the show that enchanted you, while discovering a Peter Pan that everyone can enjoy, without harm, for many years to come.”

The magical story is based on Sir James M. Barrie’s classic tale which was originally directed, choreographed, and adapted by Broadway legend Jerome Robbins.

Chicago is the 5th city on this nationwide tour. Shows will run through April 7th at the James M. Nederlander Theatre.
