House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar on Wednesday pivoted to blaming Republicans when he was asked whether it's appropriate for Rep. Jasmine Crockett to sell merchandise to fundraise based on her heated clash with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Crockett last week launched a “Crockett Clapback Collection” of T-shirts to raise money for 2024 Democratic candidates, based on her “bleach blonde, bad built, butch body” insult toward Greene.

“Do you support that? Do you think that's appropriate for your members to be essentially fundraising off the chaos of what's going on here?” a reporter asked Aguilar at House Democrats' weekly news conference.

“Look, those committee rooms shouldn't be that chaotic. That's on Chairman [James] Comer to set the tone,” Aguilar said. “This is just emblematic of House Republicans, their inability to control that hearing.”

The House Oversight Committee panel gathered last Thursday to discuss contempt proceedings against Attorney General Merrick Garland, but it quickly erupted into chaos when members began attacking each other over their physical appearance and intelligence.

Greene insulted Crockett during the hearing, saying, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading,” when Crockett questioned why Greene was bringing up Trump's hush money criminal trial during the hearing.

Crockett responded by, without naming her, attacking Greene for having a “bleach blonde, bad built, butch body.”
